Last day of school

We have had some of the most amazing teachers this year and have been so very blessed. 

 

We have loved Aryn.  She is super sweet and just loves on this little boy all day long. Can't wait to see if she will be Adalynn's teacher next year.  We are hoping so.

This was our second year to have Mrs Melissa.  Adalynn was the only girl in class with 6 other boys, but Mrs. Melissa was tremendous and helping this sweet little girl have an amazing year.

 

Lastly, I can not say enough about this AMAZING teacher.  As many of you know I was upset at the begining of the year that we were not able to homeschool and instead were going to be placing William in our local public school.  It is a great school district but I was so scared that any public education setting would squash William's love for learning and that William would get lost amongst so many kids.  On the very first day of school though William and I were greeted by the most energetic, fun loving  and personable teacher.  In all the years that i have studied, trained, and worked in the schools I can say that Mrs Howard is by far the best teacher ever! She has the most amazing ability to take the subject at hand and modify it on the fly for each child.  She knows each child's strengths and weekness, where they need to grow and how to inspire them. I feel like he is not invisible to her or just another child, she knows William inside and out just as much as I do. She has helped him to stay at or above grade level in all academic areas and has encouraged him to excell at reading well beyond his grade not becuase that is what the whole class did, but that is what William wanted and was capable of.  She has also helped this shy little boy step out of his shell some and reach out to friends.  She has also been a blessing to me personally. When I was a total mess in the begining and through out the year she knew just what to say. She kept me level headed and reminded me what was important.  Her words of wisdom reminded me that God was always in control.  It is because of Mrs. Howard that we are even considering another year of public education.  I can not express how thankful and blessed I have been to have this woman in my life.  She has taught me so many lessons and she doesn't even realize it!

 

Okay, well now that I am crying all over my computer.  Lets end with a smile. 

He doesnt' look like he has changed too much, but he still looks way too young for 1st grade!



Adalynns' birthday

 

 

Been a long time!

Like always, I will start my blog by saying sorry to all my faithful followers.  I have been just crazy busy and haven't had even a moment to breath recently so sending out pictures has just not been a priority.  I am working to find a faster and easier way to share pictures though so maybe someday it will be better. 

 

Anyways, here are a few pictures of the kids from the last few months. 

 

 

We have had several snow storms this winter and have had lots of fun in the snow!

 

Becuase William's birthday falls in the summer he got to celebrate his "half birthday" a few weeks ago instead.

 Here are two pictures of "Facial Hair" day at school to help raise money for Children Miracle Network.  I think he looks just like Ryan here!

 

 Adalynn and I were able to have our first mother and daughter tea time! It was a BLAST! we got to dress up and eat sweets.  She may need a few more lessons on manners though! :)

 

 

 As a family we went to a local organic farm. The kids had a blast getting to feed and pet the cows and Mom and Dad had fun learning more about the benefits of raw milk too!

 

 

Most of the time I feel like I am trying to herd cats, but there are fleeting moments like this were they all sit just long enough to get a quick pic.

 

 

 

 Lastly, here are some pics of Caleb.  He is all over the place!!! He is crawling and getting in to everything and eating me out of the house!  He is growing up so so very fast!

 

 

 

holiday 2013

Not very well organized but wanted to pass some pictures on 

Santa sent us a new elf this year named "Verde"  she was a little less busy as Freckles last year, but still super sweet.

We were able to hang around and watch a few holiday movies. 

We had some colder weather here too so kids in hats are just cute!

William had his music performance.  He was just as shy as last year. 

He also had a Christmas party at school. 

Mom and Dad got Adalynn a tea set and mom sewed the picnic blanket.  You can also see the boots Santa brought Adalynn.

Lost another one

Lost our first tooth

You can't tell from the picture, but we have lost our first tooth.  William's bottom two permenant teeth actually came in a few months ago but they came in behind his baby tooth.  A few weeks ago though his baby teeth started wiggling so each night we would try and pull it out.  Tonight though it finally popped out.  Ryan and I almost lost our lunch but kept it together for William's sake :). 

 

 

After we put the kids in bed tonight one of us had to run to the store and buy a pack of gum so that the "tooth fairy" could visit.  Crazy that we didn't have any paper money in the whole house.
